I found the full time thing hard to adjust to at first, but now I have finally managed to maintain a fairly balanced routine. At some point, I still would like to find the time to work on my nicolepenney.com web site, but realistically I can’t see that happening any time soon.

Anyway, that’s enough from me for now. Just letting you know I haven’t disappeared off the face of the earth.

Last week I was offered a full time position at a major design firm in Adelaide! Not only is this job full time, but I actually get the opportunity to work alongside fellow web designers! It looks like I will be learning a lot of new things at this job, it will be extremely challenging but I’m so pumped for it. Unfortunately, I had to resign at my old job. It was a  very hard thing for me to do, but this new job was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up..

It will be my last day at work tomorrow, a sad day for me as I’ve really enjoyed working with the people there

As well as all this news, I’ve started redesigning my housemate’s uncles website (http://www.mattbyrnemedia.com.au). The new design should be up by Friday, just in time for the Fringe Festival.

After three years studying at UniSA, Magill Campus I finally finished my final lot of assignments. It was a very hectic and nerve wrecking time, but somehow I came out of it alive and well. I’m very pleased with the results I achieved in this last semester (three distinctions and a credit), it’s always good to finish on a high! For one of my courses we were required to created a game as a group project. This project would then be assessed by the credit union for a competition on the Christmas Pagaent website. All of the groups in my class submitted their game on the website where a poll was created. Users could log in and vote for their favourite game. After the polls had closed, the credit union sat down and discussed each game; taking into consideration the votes, the presentation each group made at the ANZ building and the overall quality of the game. After all of this, my group and I were pleased to learn that we earned the top prize for our game ($750.00)!! We were extremely happy to win this prize as we spent many long hours constructing the game for the competition. As well as finishing uni I finally landed myself a job as a professional web designer. It’s been a good experience to actually work in a professional environment and interact with clients. I’ve been very fortunate to get this position as I know how hard it can be to get a job after uni is over

Oh one more thing. People who know me well would have discovered that I have a new found obsession with Siamese Fighting Fish. I bought my first (Calvin) in mid October and recently bought my second (Barney). They’re very beautiful fish but have a really fierce and aggressive nature. I just found out that Robbie Williams is performing at the Aria Awards 2009! I’ve been a Robbie fan for nearly 10 years now; seen him in concert 3 times and used to run a popular fansite on him. I’d love to get my hands on some tickets!

In other news, I’m heading to New Zealand for 6 days in September! I’ll be flying out with several of my close friends on the 29th of September. We’re flying into Auckland, where we will pick up our hire car and make our way to Rotorua. I’m soooo looking forward to this trip! I’ve been feeling the urge to escape from Adelaide recently, and this trip is exactly what I need! The downside is that I have to complete all of my assignment work in the first week of the study break. I’ll definitely be cram cram cramming away! Anyway, I hope somebody still reads this blog.
