Ridgway
Age: 46
Study:
University dropout – BA Macquarie Uni; Applied Science NSW Uni
Background:
Born in Cowra, NSW, grew up in Baulkham Hills (now the bible belt of Sydney). Varied musical diet encompassed The Beach Boys, James Taylor, James Brown, SRV and The Sex Pistols. First musical instrument was a 5 string banjo, then the bass guitar, steel string guitar, harmonica, recorder and then, many years later, the electric guitar.
Played in many pubs and dingy clubs in the 80s in a variety of cover bands, including the “Teenage Roadshow”, a dubious tour of NSW provincial towns for the Dept of Youth. Went into a musical coma during the 90s except for the occasional wedding or one off gig.
Living in Melbourne, since the late 80s, Ridgway now makes commercials and turns up his beloved Maton Mastersound.

Passion:
Trying to define the essence of what men think has been a recent focus of Ridgway’s. In some strange way The La-mé Brothers hits a philosophical nerve that has still some synaptic way to go. Blended with dirty blues inspired electric guitar tones that Ridgway has really only just started to dip his toes into, La-mé Brother songs still have some stories to tell.
