In the summer of 2003 Ridgway and Kenny began a musical collaboration that would define “Sleaze” and “Rock” in a way nobody else had. Limbering up on his brand new Maton MS520 electric and Kenny on a variety of bass guitars from Fender Precision and Jazz to G&L and even an acoustic bass; the boys explored the psyche of men in relation to women, sex and ego.
With hard rock tones at the core and self-deprecatory humour at the helm, La-mé Brother songs are meant to make people grin whilst they rock. With no rock cliché unturned, the music thumps at the crux of what men are thinking. Ridgway and Kenny are … The La-mé Brothers
From the murky depths of Melbourne’s musical underworld come The La-mé Brothers Fefiling computers and laptops around the world. Ridgway and Kenny are the melodic underbelly of Melbourne’s streets. As native abattoir workers by day The La-mé Brothers look innocent enough as they turn ring-tailed possums into ring-shaped sausages and rock wallabies into pot roasts.
Now plying their musical trade any way they can, the boys trawl the cyber gutters looking for fans.
Many of La-mé Brothers fans have discovered their music via online means. Including their myspace and mp3.com.au sites. One fan states “I am a La-mé Brothers fan from way back in the days when Twisted Wedding jumped onto Mp3 in its punk glory.
This band has done it again and again with their own unique bent on the songs of a Sleazebag. Top funking Sleazebag!!” Kenny and Ridgway (who funnily enough met at an abbatoir where they both worked) are still together eight years down the track. Although they aren’t heavily into live performance, all this is about to change with the announcement of their upcoming Sleazebag Tour in 2010, kicking off in January.
